Meet Dr. Larae Zimprich
As an optometrist for Vance Thompson Vision in South Sioux City, Dr. Larae Zimprich manages ocular disease, refractive, and pre- and post-operative ocular surgery care.
Dr. Zimprich grew up on her family’s farm outside of Hazel, SD, where she graduated from Hamlin High School. She continued her education at the University of Sioux Falls by earning her bachelor’s degree in biology. She was also a member of the USF women’s basketball team. In her time before starting optometry school, Dr. Zimprich worked as a technician at The Eye Doctors, P.C. in Sioux Falls. She carried this experience into optometry school at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences located in Worcester, MA. She was a proud member of the honor societies, such as Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated magna cum laude. While she was a resident, she was a sub-investigator for many clinical trials and will continue to help the advancements in eye care. Today, Dr. Zimprich is an active member of the South Dakota Optometric Society.
Dr. Zimprich’s passion for community service has led her to perform numerous free eye exams across the United States and abroad in places, including Nicaragua and Guatemala.

HOBBIES & PERSONAL INTERESTS
Outside the office, Dr. Zimprich enjoys staying active by competing in half marathons and engaging in other sports activities. She also spends time reading, boating, and traveling on mission trips.
